BBC Scotland on Thursday of last week proved that their anti-Rangers agenda is still very much "alive and kicking" during their Scotland 2014 programme on BBC2. It seems that HMRC losing the "Big Tax Case" appeal was too bitter a pill to swallow for people within the BBC Editorial department.
Now before we go any further, it is worth noting that this is the same BBC who previously paid for, produced and aired Mark Daly's now wholly discredited documentary, "The Men Who Sold The Jerseys", a programme that presumed Rangers' guilt using illegally obtained leaked papers from HMRC.
This criminal offence has never been properly investigated by the police and the BBC still refuses to divulge how the papers came into their possession.
Vanguard Bears echoes the sentiments of the Union of Fans statement that Rangers fans should now be uniting and pushing for a full inquiry and criminal investigation into the actions of HMRC and the BBC, exposing the extent of the parts they both played in this sorry episode.
Back to last Thursday's programme and what could be described as the most astonishing blatant piece of anti-Rangers programming the BBC have ever produced. The opening gambit from the presenter was enough to start alarm bells ringing as it included the statement that (Rangers) "were stripped of trophies".
Rangers have never been stripped of trophies, this is nothing more than an outright lie. There can be no editorial mistake here; there is no ambiguity on this subject, it was simply untrue. If the BBC were doing their job properly they would have stated that the SFA/SPL cabal had wanted Rangers to accept such sanctions BEFORE the outcome of the tax case was even known; that could be considered newsworthy.
Next we move on to their choice of guests, their idea of "experts". We would love to know and shall be seeking to find out the identity of the person who decided they would have Craig Houston and Angela Haggerty on as guests?
Vanguard Bears are confident that it was the same person who has been involved in other decisions that have became the subject of thousands of complaints from Rangers fans.
Firstly, we don't want to be harsh on Craig but we have never heard him talk about the tax case during his time with the Sons of Struth, therefore we would have thought that one of the other more astute public faces from the Rangers support would have been a better choice. That said though, we certainly give him credit for highlighting the BBC's part in all of this in front of a well-prepared presenter.
Secondly, we move on to Angela Haggerty. Not only was she chosen to appear, the BBC even went to the trouble of interviewing her from London! Just who was she representing last Thursday night? Although she claims otherwise, a perusal over her qualifications and credentials will show that she is not a tax or financial expert. Why didn't they ask someone from HMRC, a law expert on tax or an actual financial expert who could give the viewer an accurate and unbiased insight?
The only boxes that she could actually tick for the BBC is that she hates Rangers – which is the only one that matters to them.
What astonishes us further is that the BBC allowed such an anti-British, Rangers-hating, sectarian bigot on their programme. It reminds us of when the Sun newspaper was serialising Phil Mac Giolla Bhain's book "Downfall", the very same book which Miss Haggerty worked on, until the newspaper were made aware of Phil's shameful, bigoted behaviour.
Haggerty, in fact, has refused to accept that our football club remains "Rangers", nor has she used the name before last night's appearance, rather preferring to call the club "Sevco", claiming that our club is dead. It says a lot about her that she was ready to put herself in front of the cameras and forget all of that for her little moment of infamy. "Ill-Phil" and "The Hag" make good bedfellows, it seems.
Further evidence of Haggerty's hatred for Rangers can be found in the following tweet:
@AngelaHaggerty "a social club for people still clinging on to a white British Protestant identity that resolves around fancy dress, Rangers Football Club... "
This not-so-subtle inference that Rangers fans are involved in the Ku Klux Klan, although this shouldn't come as a surprise to any Rangers fans as Phil MacNoCredibilityLeft often refers to us as "the Klan" in many of his crayon-written ramblings. This is the same Phil who has been labelled by the national press as a sectarian bigot.
@AngelaHaggerty "This time 2 years ago @Pmacgiollabhain and I were working frantically on Downfall. What an amazing 2 years it's been. The truth won #Rangers"
Could it be that as mainstream media will no-longer touch McGillivan, she is attempting to become the new public face of their Rangers-hating cabal?
What does it say about a person who's career ambitions are to be a spreader of hatred, lies and insults?
Further evidence of Haggerty's hatred of Rangers can be seen by scrolling through her Twitter timeline.
The questions that Vanguard Bears demand answers to are "Who, at the BBC, made the decision that Haggerty was a suitable guest, given her very public rantings against all things Rangers, on a subject where she has no expertise?" and "What was that decision based on?"
If the BBC is prepared to invite an obvious Rangers-hater like Haggerty on to their programme to discuss Rangers, who will they ask in the future to appear to discuss the allegations of the state-aid given to Celtic F.C., or indeed to discuss that clubs' covering-up of years of heinous child abuse, such a deplorable act that the BBC also finds itself accused of.
Rangers fans should hope we get the inquiry and subsequent justice we deserve, and that the BBC's role in obtaining illegal papers results in that organisation ending their blatant anti-Rangers bias once and for all.
