Vanguard Bears note that there have been accusations of fraud levelled at Rangers Finance Director Brian Stockbridge by Jim McColl and Paul Murray's requisition group.
The Club have responded saying that they haven’t received any contact from the Serious Fraud Office and are unaware of any investigation, as claimed by Mr. McColl’s group. The Club added that the huge outflow of cash, due to running costs and salaries, was in fact initiated by Malcolm Murray, who is also a member of the group, when he was Chairman.
The Club's response also states that the timing of these allegations appears to be a "crude" attempt at garnering support for the requisitioners who are holding a fans' forum this evening.
VB would like to propose that should Mr. Stockbridge be placed under investigation by any fiscal body with legal standing in Scotland, and subsequently found guilty, we would demand that he is removed from his position immediately and is dealt with appropriately by the relevant authorities.
However, should the accusations turn out to be without foundation, we would implore Rangers to take action against his accusers, as such on-going speculation and negative press is damaging our recovery and ultimate journey back to the summit of Scottish football.
