We will never hide from it. Never fear."

CARRY-ON CAMERON. SHAME ON YOU.

I'm old enough to remember a time when The Herald – or the Glasgow Herald as it was then – was a respected and valued broadsheet. Younger readers of this article may be shaking their heads in disbelief, but seriously, back in the day this newspaper was known as one with principles. You may not have always agreed with the musings of its editors, columnists and journalists, but you could be assured their words had been written with honesty, professionalism and moral integrity. Sadly those days are long gone.

My attention has been drawn to an article written by "journalist" Neil Cameron in Wednesday's edition. Entitled "Child abuse victims at Celtic Boys Club deserve to be given answers", the headline gives the impression that finally a Scottish sports journalist had suffered enough of Celtic F.C's continual shameful denials, lack of compassion and frankly lies - and was prepared to speak out.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

A large chunk of Mr. Cameron's article was spent decrying Jimmy Savile and events surrounding his paedophilia and the cover-up of same. No problem with that. He then rather bizarrely brought long-dead Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher into the equation. Apparently she had entertained Savile on a number of occasions. Of course she wasn't the only one.

Former Celtic F.C. Chairman Kevin Kelly and former Celtic F.C. Manager Jock Stein socialise with Savile

From that point on the article took a sinister turn. Mr. Cameron introduced to the reader an anonymous friend who had suffered "light abuse" at the hands of a Celtic paedophile. No, really, that's the term Cameron used. Then, peddling a line introduced by a female Radio Scotland presenter last week, he inferred that those abused as children by Celtic's Boys Club paedophiles and now pursuing claims against the parent company were only in it for the money or "looking to exploit the situation for financial gain" as he succinctly put it.

What a grubby little man. With the total destruction of the "separate entity" lie, is this the latest squalid tactic from Celtic and their useful idiots? Dismiss molested children as money-grabbers?

Mr. Cameron may care to consult two victims I am aware of whose adult lives were blighted by drug addiction and alcoholism as a consequence of Celtic's cover-up. Or maybe he should consult the family of a man who committed suicide as a result of being molested as a child by a Celtic official.

In the final paragraphs Cameron told us that his friend had decided to get on with his life, was still a Celtic season ticket-holder, casts no blame on  the current Celtic hierarchy and has no desire for an apology from Celtic F.C.

I have visited Germany on numerous occasions and don't blame the entire German nation or current government for the holocaust, but I still think the countries heartfelt apologies and compensation payments was the very least they could do.

A cynic may conclude that Celtic supporter Mr. Cameron wants to convince victims of Celtics paedophiles and cover-up to just shut up and go away. Much in the same way as Celtic supporters bombard victims and their families who speak out against The Club Like No Other with threats and abuse.

After all they've suffered, these brave individuals won't submit to the wishes of twisted cowards.
