Since the attacks on Rangers FC staff and supporters by rampaging Hibs thugs at this year’s Scottish Cup Final at Hampden, Vanguard Bears have been raising money to be used to help with legal fees and any fines given to any Rangers fan who is charged as a result of defending the players and staff that day.
At the time of publishing this message we have broken through the £4,000 mark on our JustGiving.com page and further fundraising events and activities are being organised with more generous donations expected.
100% of the sum raised will be used to defend Rangers fans who have been arrested for entering the field of play to carry out the job that the Police and security staff failed to do – protect the players and officials.
We now ask that any Rangers fan arrested for defending the team that day, make contact with us by emailing defence@vanguardbears.co.uk to discuss how we can help. A reputable defence lawyer is on standby to offer free legal advice over the phone and will be more than willing to represent any Bears in a court of law. We urge that no Rangers fans should make any plea until they have discussed their next move with a legal professional.
Vanguard Bears will treat any contact with 100% confidentiality, we won’t divulge any names, details or information.
